On the second day, you will travel to Anuradhapura making stops at several famous ruins en route each with a unique history and historical significance. On your second day in Anuradhapura, you’ll be primed for lifelong adventures. A historical city tour that provides you with an overview of Sri Lanka’s past will kick off your day.
On the fourth day of the tour, you’ll depart for Jaffna and explore the Nallur Temple, a popular destination due to its impressive five-story Dravidian-style building. Additionally, you’ll get to see the historic Jaffna Fort and unwind in the serene setting of Casuarina Beach. You can cool off in Keerimalai’s seaside natural springs during your few days in Jaffna. Lastly, you will go to the Sangupiddy Bridge, a northern Sri Lankan Road bridge that crosses the Jaffna Lagoon.
Seven days after you start your trip, you will go to Nilaveli. This place has a very special beach called Nilaveli Beach. It is one of the prettiest beaches in Sri Lanka. You can do fun water sports like scuba diving there. The beach also has soft white sand. Pigeon Island is the first place where you will go snorkeling in Sri Lanka. It is one of only two marine national parks in the country. Next, you will visit Koneswaram Temple. You can see the famous Hot Water Wells there. You can also enjoy looking at the beautiful scenery around the temple. After a long day, you will spend the eighth night in Nilaveli.
You’ll head to Sigiriya to start your day after checking out. Commencing the day will be an ascension of the renowned Sigiriya Rock recognized as the eighth wonder of the world. From this breathtaking location take in the breathtaking vista and the famous prehistoric artwork that adorns the rock’s heights. Later you visit Minneriya National Park for an exhilarating Jeep Safari where you might get to see incredible animals in their natural habitat. Your day will be completed with a walk through the village and an overnight stay at a soothing ayurvedic spa in Sigiriya.
Upon checking out you will depart for Kandy and make a stop at the well-known Dambulla Cave Temple also referred to as the Golden Temple for some fun along the way. You will also get the chance to learn more about the city’s diverse culture by going to the revered Temple of the Tooth Relic, a site of great significance to Buddhists. You can visit the Turtle Hatchery to see nature’s wonders there. You can interact with the amazing turtles. On your last day in Bentota, you can enjoy a boat ride. It will be on the Madhu River. You can see the pretty beach too.
